Velassaru Maldives 2012

I have not been writing for quite some time. I would say that it’s been almost 3 years?

My husband and I both are nurses, and we met in 2009 in the hospital where we used to work together and got married in December 2010. Between 2011 to 2012, we left the hospital and opted for a clinic environment where the hours are more regular in order to meet the demands of parenthood.

At some point between then and now, I lapsed into auto-pilot. I’ve lost important friends along the way, and also drifted apart from my own family after having moved in with my hubs and his parents.

People say it’s too easy to lose oneself in the search for happiness, and I can’t agree more. Not that I’m complaining – I am married to the most wonderful man for almost 3 years now, and we have a beautiful 2 year old son.

Now that we are both settled in our new jobs carving out the beginnings of a career, we’ve both met new friends and colleagues who constantly inspire us to be better persons and to find a work-life balance. I decided to make time (which used to be so hard to do) and pick up writing online again. I think it’s a good way to keep the memories of our journey alive and maybe in a few years, we’ll be able to look back and see how much we have grown as individuals and as a family.

So, in a way, I consider this a rebirth, my rebirth. I will start over and continue in my learning journey to be a better person, a better friend, a better daughter, wife, and mother.

Thank you for reading on, and enjoy the journey with me!
